Revised Landfill Schedule Effective July 5, 2022

As of Tuesday, July 5, 2022, the Municipal Landfill will adhere to the following schedule:

• Sundays: CLOSED
• Mondays: CLOSED
• Tuesdays: OPEN 8AM to 4:30PM
• Wednesdays: OPEN 8AM to 4:30PM
• Thursdays: OPEN 8AM to 4:30PM
• Fridays: OPEN 8AM to 4:30PM
• Saturdays: OPEN 8AM to 4:30PM

While the closure of Mondays may seem like a reduction in services, it, in fact, provides our staff with an opportunity to carry out essential maintenance operations more effectively.

By closing at 4:30 PM, Municipal Landfill employees will have ample time to conduct vital safety checks, which include, but are not limited to, ensuring that no one is left inside the facility before locking up at the end of the 5:00 PM shift.

Commencing July 5, 2022, the gate will be closed (not locked) at 4:30 PM. Those who have entered before this time will, of course, be allowed to exit, but anyone arriving at the gate at 4:30 PM or later will not be permitted to enter.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind all users, both Commercial and Residential, that scavenging at the Municipal Landfill is strictly prohibited.

We continue to receive reports of individuals sifting through waste materials discarded by previous visitors. Scavenging poses serious health and safety risks, not only to visitors but also to our staff.

We kindly request all users to promptly dispose of their waste materials and exit the facility. If you witness scavenging at the Landfill, please contact Municipal Enforcement at 896-3322. Violators will be ticketed and may face future access restrictions.

Please note that the landfill will also be closed on the following statutory holidays:

• New Year’s Day
• Good Friday
• Easter Monday
• Victoria Day
• June Holiday Day
• Canada Day
• August Civic Holiday
• Labour Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Remembrance Day
• Christmas Day
• Boxing Day (reduced hours)

Residents are reminded that they can still dispose of their personal refuse free of charge at the municipal landfill. Your cooperation and adherence to these guidelines are greatly appreciated.
