Water Line Repairs

Water Service Disruption Protocols in Happy Valley-Goose Bay:

  • Learn about the Town’s response to frozen lines and leaks.

Policy for Water Line Breaks and Repairs:

  • The Town is not responsible for water line breaks on the owner’s side of the curb stop.
  • The Town will investigate issues during normal working hours and inform property owners that repairs are their responsibility.
  • For frozen water mains, owners must contact a local plumbing company to thaw the lines. If unsuccessful, the Town will thaw the line at the owner’s expense (conditions apply, contact the Town for details).
  • The Town will repair water breaks occurring outside the curb stop.

Response After Regular Hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.):

  • The same policy applies. If the issue is on the property owner’s side, they are responsible for repairs. If outside the curb stop, the Town handles repairs.

Responsibility Reminder:

  • Citizens requesting water services are responsible for completing work if the issue is on the owner’s side of the curb stop.
