The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay seeks to employ multiple full-time (Term Hire Position) Summer Recreation Program staff, reporting to the Director of Community Services & Recreation. We are currently recruiting for:
- Summer Recreation Coordinator (multiple)
- Summer Recreation Counsellor (multiple)
- Recreation Labourer (multiple)
As the successful applicant, you must possess the following:
- Coordinators – Minimum Age: 18 years
- Coordinators – Minimum Education: One year of post-secondary program
- Counsellors – Minimum Age: 17 years
- Counsellors – Minimum Education: Grade 11 High School
- Attending a Post-Secondary Educational Institution in September 2026 (written confirmation of registration to be provided) or Grade 12
- Provide a clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check prior to start of employment
- Qualifications in First Aid/ CPR / Life Guarding will be considered an asset
- High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development training will be considered an asset
- Previous experience in sports coaching, child-care or community programming activities will be considered an asset
The hourly pay rate is $19.00 per hour for Coordinator and Labourer, and $18.00 per hour for Counsellor.
