Notice of Planned Bridge Repair and Maintenance Work from Newfoundland Labrador Hydro

Release Date: July 23, 2026

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising residents and area users of upcoming bridge repairs and maintenance in Labrador to access the Labrador-Island Link transmission corridor. Construction is currently expected to begin at the end of July until the end of September 2026, subject to weather and operational requirements.

The infrastructure work includes repairs and maintenance to help ensure safe and reliable access to Hydro’s assets and extend the service life of existing bridge infrastructure.

Potential impacts may include:

• Construction personnel and equipment operating along the corridor
• Temporary access limitations at specific bridge locations while work is underway

Hydro and its contractors will work to minimize disruptions and maintain safe access wherever practical. All work will be completed in accordance with applicable permits, approvals, regulations, environmental requirements and industry standards.
