Accessibility Plan

The Town of Happy Valley–Goose Bay is committed to building a barrier-free, inclusive community where all residents can fully participate in civic life.

To support this commitment, Council has established an Accessibility Plan Committee, which provides information and advice on identifying, preventing, and eliminating barriers for people with disabilities in municipal programs, services, facilities, and public spaces.

The Committee is currently recruiting additional community stakeholders and will engage with residents using the “What We Heard” public-engagement model.

Committee Terms of Reference

Council has approved the Committee’s Terms of Reference, which define its mandate, responsibilities, membership, and operating procedures. This document provides the framework for how the Committee will function and ensures its work remains transparent and accountable. It will also guide the Committee as it develops recommendations and engages the community on accessibility initiatives.
