Dion O’Dell
Councillor
Dion Luke O’Dell, born in Blanc Sablon, Quebec, lived the first three years of childhood in the Labrador Straits and then moved to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, which is now and always will be considered home. During that time, he has been fortunate to have built a career with the Province’s Utility as an Electrical Engineering Technologist and, along with his wife Pamela, raised a family of two amazing and respectful children, Christopher (Megan) and Tyler (Sarah), who are now grown and residents of this wonderful community.
For leisure, he enjoys outdoor activities such as snowshoeing, skiing, running, snowmobiling, and boating. Indoor activities include sports such as ice hockey and soccer. Spending time at the cabin or in the backyard around the fire pit with friends and family, including their new addition, Emma (Granddaughter), is also a pastime of Dion’s. Over the years, he has been involved with volunteer organizations such as the 2945 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corp, Xtreme Minor Hockey, and he is currently involved with the HV-GB Recyclers and HV-GB Volunteer Fire Department. Dion is very determined in finding opportunities to enhance and better our community, making it a model and leader in innovative thinking and problem-solving for municipalities across this province and country, and he looks forward to serving his community
