Public Transit Service Launch Update #8

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay would like to inform residents that Saturday, August 16th, will be the last day for the fixed-stop bus service. On-Demand bus service will begin fully starting Monday, August 18th.
Please take note that:
- The Use Transit Platform is for fares and the Transit Cards
- The On-Demand App is for scheduling rides.
FARES AND TRANSIT CARDS
Riders can now register on the UseTransit Platform (see picture below for reference)

After registration, Transit Cards can be picked up at the Town Office front desk during office hours. See the link👉HERE for a step-by-step guide on how to register on the UseTransit Platform
Cards can be loaded with the desired amount at the Town Office front desk or reloaded using debit or credit cards once an account is created on the Use Transit Platform

Fares will be $3 per ride. There is no cost for riders under 5 years old who are accompanied by a paying rider.
The driver will not be able to provide change for cash-paying customers. Riders are advised to pay with the exact amount when possible.
Only Transit Cards and Cash are ACCEPTED on the bus; Debit or Credit cards are NOT ACCEPTED on the bus.
If you are interested in a bulk purchase of Transit Cards, please contact the Town with information on the number of cards and the dollar amount to be loaded on the cards. Note that a 48-hour notice is required to allow us time to activate and load the cards before pick-up.
ON-DEMAND APP
To request a bus ride, you need the On-Demand app available on Google Play (Android Devices) and the App Store (iPhones and iPads).
Search for “On Demand Transit” and download the “On Demand Transit: Rider App” shown in the picture below from the search results.

Use the Transit code hvgb to locate the Town’s transit on the app.

Sign up with your details.
After which, you will receive an email from no_reply@townhvgb.com to confirm your registration.

After the process is complete, you can add your ride.

If you are unable to see the page below when you click Add ride arrow, make sure to move your ASAP button to the left side.

You can visit the Town Hall front desk if you require additional assistance with setting up the On-Demand App and the Use Transit Platform.
