The E. J. Broomfield Arena is a cornerstone of recreation, entertainment, and community in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Known for its dynamic programming and flexible space, the arena is proud to host a wide variety of events year-round.
During the winter season, the arena is home to public skating, minor hockey, figure skating, and other ice-based programs. In the off-season, the ice surface is removed to make way for concerts, community gatherings, indoor soccer, ball hockey, and major events like the Labrador Winter Games.
Whether you’re skating with family, competing in a tournament, or attending a live show, the E. J. Broomfield Arena is built for connection, celebration, and community spirit.
Public Skating & Safety
Public skating is offered weekly and is open to all ages. For the safety of all participants, helmets are mandatory during all public sessions.
Events & Entertainment
From rock concerts and cultural festivals to youth sports and community celebrations, the arena is equipped to host a wide variety of non-ice events throughout the year.
