Public Transit Service Launch Update #8

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay would like to inform residents thatΒ Saturday, August 16th, will be the last day for the fixed-stop bus service. On-Demand bus service will begin fully startingΒ Monday, August 18th.
Please take note that:
- TheΒ Use TransitΒ Platform is for fares and the Transit CardsΒ
- The On-Demand AppΒ is for scheduling rides.
FARES AND TRANSIT CARDS
Riders can now register on theΒ UseTransit PlatformΒ (see picture below for reference)

After registration,Β Transit Cards can be picked upΒ at the Town Office front desk during office hours. See the linkπHEREΒ for a step-by-step guide on how to register on theΒ UseTransit Platform
Cards can be loaded with the desired amount at the Town Office front desk or reloaded using debit or credit cards once an account is created on the Use Transit Platform

Fares will be $3 per ride. There is no cost for riders under 5 years old who are accompanied by a paying rider.
The driver will not be able to provide change for cash-paying customers. Riders are advised to pay with the exact amount when possible.
Only Transit Cards and Cash are ACCEPTED on the bus; Debit or Credit cards are NOT ACCEPTED on the bus.
If you are interested in a bulk purchase of Transit Cards, please contact the Town with information on the number of cards and the dollar amount to be loaded on the cards.Β Note that a 48-hour notice is required toΒ allow us time to activate and load the cards before pick-up.
ON-DEMAND APP
To request a bus ride, you need theΒ On-Demand app available onΒ Google PlayΒ (Android Devices) and theΒ App StoreΒ (iPhones and iPads).
Search forΒ βOn Demand TransitβΒ and download theΒ “On Demand Transit: Rider App”Β shown in the picture below from the search results.

Use theΒ Transit codeΒ hvgbΒ to locate the Town’s transit on the app.

Sign up with your details.
After which, you will receive an email fromΒ no_reply@townhvgb.com to confirm your registration.

After the process is complete, you can add your ride.

You can visit the Town Hall front desk if you require additional assistance with setting up theΒ On-Demand AppΒ and theΒ Use Transit Platform.
