Update on the Town’s Public Transit System
The Town accepted delivery of the Electric Bus in November and has been working with suppliers to arrange the various components needed to launch Happy Valley-Goose Bay’s first public transit!
While a change in staffing caused a short delay in movement in these areas especially over the holiday season, things have been progressing well with obtaining suppliers for the charging equipment and station installation, fare collection equipment and software, and bus routing software, as well as requesting additional power from NL Hydro for the chargers.
Once all things are finalized, the lead time for delivery and training is 10 to 15 weeks.
The Town is excited to provide this much-desired service to the Community and anticipates a Spring debut!
