Denise Rumbolt
Councillor
First elected to Council in September 2021 and re-elected for a second term in October 2025, Councillor Denise Rumbolt is a proud lifelong resident of Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Born in Goose Bay and raised in Happy Valley, she and her husband have built their life and raised their two children in the community she continues to serve with pride.
Councillor Rumbolt has an extensive background in client services, having worked in retail, banking, and currently with her Indigenous government — a career she describes as both rewarding and purpose-driven. Her commitment to community service extends beyond her professional life. She is a former member of the Goose-Happy Valley Kinette Club, where she served for over a decade in various executive roles, including Club President. She also currently serves as a Town-appointed board member with the Goose Bay Airport Corporation.
During her first term on Council, Councillor Rumbolt served as Chairperson of the Finance Committee, the Community Services and Recreation Committee, and the Community Planning and Development Committee. She was also an active member of the Municipal Services Committee and the Protective Services Committee.
Guided by a strong interest in governance, Councillor Rumbolt has dedicated herself to learning the intricacies of municipal operations, legislation, and policy. She is proud and humbled to represent the residents of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and strives to be a helpful, approachable, and respectful voice on Council.
