Born in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, upon graduation from high school Hayward Broomfield went on to receive an Accounting Diploma from the College of the North Atlantic, St. John’s, in 1982. He later received a Computer Science Diploma from the College of the North Atlantic, St. John’s, in 1985, and a Technical and Vocational Teaching Certificate in 1991. Later, he would receive a Bachelor of Laws Degree in Halifax in 1997.
Throughout his career, Hayward worked at various accounting positions from 1988 to1992. He was Business Manager for the Labrador Friendship Centre from 2005 to 2010 and served as the Town Clerk for the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay from 2010 to 2015. Most recently he was an Accounting Clerk with the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies from 2017 to 2020.
Now retired, Hayward is looking forward to serving his community as a Councillor to which he was elected in the September 2021 Municipal General Election.
